Marco: In 2006 is pervi (prvi) put in Serbia with extremely band from hard ‘n’ core from Sao Paulo, old school in Punks and…
voditelj: Name of the band?
Marco: Sick Terror
voditelj: How do you say it in Brasillian, in Portugese ?
Marco: In Portugese : Doença do terror ( Terror sickness) hahaha… this band is from Sao Paulo, I am singer to other band in this time, the name is Lobotomia, Lobotomia (drugaciji naglasak), ne?
voditelj: Odakle su, iz Brazila, from Brazil?
Marco: Iz Brazil, da da. I know have one band od…from Belgrade I think, the name is the same – Lobotomia.
voditelj: Have you heard…the band’s name is Partibrejkers…did you, did you hear about them?
Marco: I don’t know, I don’t know
voditelj: They have a song Lobotomija
Marco: Aaa, super, super. E, i…and I come here and it’s total amazing, we play in one place in the…in the…close to Belgrade, one park in wood kuca…it’s one park close to Belgrade, I don’t remember the name… Se che (check it out) banja, ne?
voditelj: Banja, ok.
Marco: And after this time I come one more time with Lobotomia and we play in Belgrade and I meet one woman, she play bass in other band and we start some connection and after some time she comes to Brazil , I come to Serbia and I live here for couple of years one time …
voditelj: Sa njom? With her?
Marco: With her, da. E, because I come here one time and one look to other and say what do you made, I’m back to Brazil and I stay here because of you. I don’t stay here because of work or…
voditelj: And you’ve gotten married?
Marco: Da, and I say go resolve all this more fast and maybe…
voditelj: So, you married the bassist …bass player from another band?
Marco: Da, from Belgrade
voditelj: What’s the name of the band?
Marco: The name of the band… I think she played in one Fishskin … Fish skin … the name … but I don’t now is this the same because she have 2 band she play in. The band opened the gig I don’t know is Fish skin or the other, because I don’t remember the name of the other.
voditelj: But you got married and you have a kid, beautiful son…
Marco: Puff …this is the news…this total new and we made this in Brazil and we understand it’s good to made in Brazil and go to born to Serbia…heheheh
voditelj: Ok, what about the music, what do you do now?
Marco: Now I have…
voditelj: Sta radis?
Marco: Now I don’t stay with one solid band, but the last job, the last work I made with friends to other band… I made some collabs from the internet because of this pandemia stay strong and everybody, everybody die today inside this pandemia and we start made this – some bands stay, not possible to meet and we made this. And after this – is this, my last work is this. I have one vision now because I think this pandemia stay down now in some place or not, I don’t know but this time all the musicians to all the world, all the artist : stay out to your territory, you know …your business, your soul, your desire, your life because need or you made some collabs, sing with out to the agglomeration , many people together or you die. And…
voditelj: So, you rock or you die?
Marco: Da, rock or die, rock or die (osmeh).
voditelj: Ok, and what are the bands you were referring to? Koji bendovi…sa kojima saradjujes?
Marco: The bends that influenced me?
voditelj: No, the bends you are familiar with, you are friends with ?
Marco: Da, da my friend…
voditelj: I heard you know the guys from Sepultura …
Marco: Da, da, Igor now live in London I think
voditelj: Who is Igor?
Marco: Igor is the drummer of the Sepultura, the original Sepultura, Igor Cavalera. Now he meets after many times he together with the brother Max and make Cavalera Conspiracy – the band.
And now the guys made one tour is reborn it’s the best albums is “Beneath the Remains” and “Arise” and the guys stayed together to made the tour and I hope he come for the Serbia, for we stayed together.
voditelj: You are all from Sao Paulo?
Marco: This guy is from Minas Gerais state, and the name of the city is Belo Horizonte and, but the time he meet guys from Ratos de Porao… In Belo Horizonte is interesting, is other state and other city and have one recording Cogumelo Discos and one time we made – meet with the bands to metal and punk and everybody goes to Belo Horizonte for record the albums. And after the had to go to the Belo Horizonte guys come from Sao Paulo and I think because one guy from Sepultura is Andreas, Andreas is the guitar player he stay now in Sepultura, now. And he is maybe leader of Sepultura or not, but I think yes. And guys… I think Sepultura doesn’t have any leader its one group this is made to stay . And really, replay in this godina in Exit fest. And the lineup is “Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds”. And have the “Sepultura” and have “Discharged” and ” The Exploited” … I think it’s amazing. And now is this.
voditelj: SO, what other names…
Marco: The bands? From Brazil?
voditelj: The bands from Brazil you work with or…
Marco: I work with the man…some bands from Brazil, I participate to other bands “Acrotosc…”, “Wetow…”, “Na som su b…”…and others
voditelj: What kind of music they are playing?
Marco: Is good in my life, I don’t listen samo jedan style of the music. I listen many different styles of music, I have friends to play jazz, hip-hop, rap, musica popular brasielira, rock Brazil also and…
voditelj: How about those bands you’ve done some music with? What kind of music they are playing?
Marco: This guys made a mix is good from the music from Brazi because have the roots from Brazil, have good rhythmics and have soul from Brazil and we have some bands north of Brazil south of Brazil total good quality and come to kako se zove come to the style of the place he comes, he don’t have the style to metal from …
voditelj: So, they are bringing their origin
Marco: Tako je, the culture da, stay in the song…it is amazing have a total mix to the rhythmics and the influence to the international music ne? RNR come to out, not born in Brazil but have the songs similar in Brazil, the other names. I think music is all the planet … have World music ne? I identificate hard core in the music from all the World, you know.
voditelj: I’ve heard some punk songs from…
Marco: Da and some folk music from the locals…have some rhythmics and the singers is for me is total similar to the punk rocks
voditelj: So you think it’s more about the message and the soul…
Marco: E, and rhythmics , it’s fast you know, it’s good
voditelj: Special rhythm ?
Marco: Good, good. I like music from Serbia also… One time I stay here and I put in my mind – I need : pricaj serbski, I need – samo listen things from Serbia and I go in the radio in the car and samo music from Serbia and I identificate all … but it is impossible… I come to the kuca and repeat the names from the authors or the band … because guys say good, not so fast but for I and driving not so good
voditelj: So you know of some bands but you don’t know their names
Marco: Da,da have a good bands in Serbia and not solo only for rock and roll have good bands to the rap and the original music from the Serbia is totally interesting
voditelj: So what’s the project you are doing now in this studio?
Marco: I stay in Serbia and I need one place for record because now the pandemia down and we start make some songs with the musicians from the other countries and maybe I meet some musician from Serbia for making song here and I find 2 brothers here, it’s the Zoff and Danko is total – mnogo vam hvala total for receive me here is total good ambient is total health things …and artist is a good mix to the cultures and I believe so much this – because for you have some interest for some other people , you made some things different because – samo, samo , samo
